Little Learners Creche
Little Learners Creche is a community based childcare service operating in the catchment area of Mulhuddart, Dublin 15. Our aim is to provide a good quality, child centered, affordable local childcare service which will enable parents to avail of employment, training and education opportunities.
The service is provided to people irrespective of their economic religious or ethnic background. We are funded by the Irish Government under the Community Childcare Subvention Scheme and part-financed by the European Union Structural Funds under the National Development Plan 2007-2013. We are managed by a voluntary Management Committee.
Our team consists of five-full-time qualified and trained staff, including the Manager and Senior Childcare Worker. The team also currently includes two part-time Community Employment Workers and one Special Needs Assistant. We cater for children aged between 1 and 5 years in our Wobblers, Toddler and Pre-School rooms and can cater for up to 54 children in total. The service is open tall year round and we offer full day and half day morning and afternoon sessions.
Our hours of operation are Monday to Friday incorporating:
- Full Day session 9.00-4.30
- Half Day session 9.00-1.30
- Morning session 9.00-12.30 / Afternoon session 1.00-4.30

We endeavour to deliver best quality childcare and early learning and are committed to the health, safety, care and happiness of every child in our care. We are HSE registered and fully compliant with the Childcare and Preschool Regulations 2006. We have an open door policy where parents and guardians are welcome to drop in at any time and are encouraged to participate and involve themselves in creche activities.
We operate under the high/Scope Programme, High Scope is an approach to early learning which has been developed to help children become independent decision makers and problem-solvers. The High/Scope environment is designed to support children’s active learning where children develop positive dispositions such as curiosity, initiative, self-confidence, tolerance, self discipline and resourcefulness. The room is divided into clearly defined interest areas that enable children to find and use the materials they need in order to explore, invent, and learn about their world. The daily routine and curriculum provides the social framework for a variety of learning experiences and interactions. Since it is consistent in sequence, but flexible in content, children feel secure, interested and in control.
We have a quiet room when children need to rest and we provide all meals, snacks and drinks for the children. We consider outdoor play a very important part of our curriculum and we have a large, partially covered, outdoor play area for fun in all weather.
